I've been re-watching firefly since the movie is coming out rather shortly, and I'm still in love with everything about it. I love how unsteady the shots are in the animation sequences, and how they use that to give a realistic feeling to the movement.

That's what I want to be able to put into my animation, feeling and a personal touch. But since I'm just learning I'm going to have to go with what I can do... Which isn't much.

So I've been working on my first animation project which is just supposed to be a short plane crash and be done with it. However, being me I'm stepping beyond my abilities and going with an aerial dogfight combining 2D and 3D animation. Hopefully it will turn out ok.

But since I've started working with 3D Studio Max and modeling my room all I can see around me are things that I want to put into 3D form.

I was out smoking a cigarette earlier and I was looking at how the light from it was bouncing of the world around it. And each time I blew the smoke out I was looking at how it changed the setting. I don't know if I can be a good animator or not, but I know I have the eye for it.

But mostly what I want is to see my finished project and know there is nothing more I want to do. I want my Firefly someday.

That's all I'm going to leave you with today.
